This past week has been a blur. I am so happy that Robin Ruth Design has had such a positive response in these first days of business. I now have three teaching dates (see Events), am making my way into local stores and already have had a reorder from one, and have agreed to exclusive national distribution with Checker Distributors! Thanks to everyone who has been helping me along the way, especially the guy in the "shipping department" pictured below!
Today I am officially launching my line of Robin Ruth Rulers and instruction books! It has been a long and interesting journey to this point, and I have learned a ton along the way. This is my second time around running my own small business, so there are some things that are familiar and others I've had to learn from scratch like Adobe Illustrator, InDesign, Photoshop, and how to design a website. It seems like lately I've been spending a lot more time at the computer than at my sewing machine, but that is all about to change. Tomorrow I will be working on a quilt! If you've looked at my site and Coming Soon, you see I have a few projects ahead of me. Most of these are already designed, and now I just need to get them put into patterns. I am working on a sample for the first pattern called Mix and Match Medallion Quilt. There will be a Skinny and a Fat version, and this one is Skinny. I look forward to sharing my progress with you in the days ahead!
